Man sentenced to 8 years in heroin case
URBANA An Urbana man who admitted having heroin for sale in Champaign has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Levon Redding, 26, who listed an address in the 300 block of Scottswood Drive, Oakley Outlet pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
He Oakley Outlet admitted that on July 23, he had 7 grams of heroin in 42 bags that he was selling at an address in the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue in Champaign.
Assistant State’s Attorney Sarah Carlson said Champaign police were doing an undercover investigation involving Redding and had arranged a buy from him using a confidential source.
Champaign County Judge Tom Difanis agreed to recommend Redding for the Department of Corrections’ boot camp progra Oakley Outlet m.
Carlson said he Oakley Outlet had prior convictions for trespass to vehicle, possession of cannabis and possession of ammunition without a firearm owner’s identification card.
