Shaken but wiser after the ordeal, Bergstrom said that he is “just glad to be home again,” but that, if nothing else, he has learned a valuable life lesson he will not likely forget.

While trying to board a flight out of Buffalo, New York recently, a PhD student at Arizona State found out the hard way that being on a no fly list isn’t the only way to attract the attention of the TSA wearing a funny shirt will do the trick, too.

In a post published to his personal blog on Tuesday, a 31 year old doctoral candidate named Arijit recounts the horrors he experienced while attempting to fly from Buffalo Niagara International Airport to Phoenix over the weekend after attending a funeral.

The pilot of the aircraft, however, had had enough of the whole ordeal and asked the Delta supervisor to relay the message that, due to the discomfort the shirt had caused, neither Arijit nor his wife would be allowed to board the aircraft.

If your fish do not become stimulated by your bait, they may not even realise that even your hook bait is in the swim. In many situations just fishing a single hook bait on its own will not be enough to produce satisfactory results.

If you wish to consistently target big fish, then it is advisable to get enough fish into your swim over a length of time, so that only the biggest fish are left competing for your bait. Otherwise you may keep on being pestered by the less wary smaller fish over and over again. (This is referred to, as the ‘baiting triangle effect and is fanatastic for consistent big fish catches.)

If big fish are your goal and you only bait up with a minimum amount of ‘ground bait’ or chum, then you may only hold fish for a very short period in your swim, before they leave the area. The biggest point is that your free bait needs to have a water soluble content in order to really stimulate your fish efficiently and effectively.

Big fish can eat very substantial amounts of food extremely quickly, and may require far more food to hold them than you expect! It is obvi Oakley Sunglasses ous that the longer fish remain actively feeding or looking for food or are in a ‘feeding stimulated state’ that you will gen Oakley Sunglasses erate more chances of a ‘bite’ even if this means your hook bait may be tested or sampled numerous times, by different fish, until one makes a mistake and becomes hooked!

If you really stimulate your fish with the use of ‘feeding triggering’ ground baits and free baits, you are more likely to get ‘bites’ especially from perhaps more wary big fish, than if they entered the swim un stimulated first.

Feeding with ground bait that dissolves leaving only ‘traces’ of dissolved attractors in the water have an advantage over ‘solid’ ground baits, because odds are that fish will pick up your hook baits far quicker and there is no risk of ‘filling the fish up’ with free bait even before Oakley Sunglasses the fish finally eat your hook bait.

Ground baits that are ‘active’ will promote more response from fish. This might mean adding live creatures into it, like worms or maggots etc. Or incorporating ingredients that will ‘cloud up’ and flavour the water, and rise to different levels in the water column as different ingredients of various buoyancies disperse.

There are many ways and means of offering free baits to fish. From the tried and tested ‘pre baiting method’ to the ‘little and often’ regular feeding while actually fishing as with ‘match fishing.’ However one thing is clear, even with the little and often method: it can very often take a large amount of bait over a period of time to ‘build up’ your swim and produce the greatest and heaviest catches of bigger fish.

Question: My granddaughters in Atlanta tell me they’d like magnetic bracelets for Christmas, but I’ve had no luck tracking down anything like that in Orlando. Can you help?

Answer: Magnetic bracelets are the latest costume jewelry craze. To make the bracelets, magnetic beads are interspersed with regular beads on a long string. When the string is wrapped around the wrist (or neck or ankle), the magnetic beads stick together to form a bracelet (or choker or anklet).

You can find the bracelets at American Modern Jewelry, 2912 Corrine Drive, Orlando. The store is operated by David and Liz Kazyk, who make the popular bracelets using magnetic hematite beads and a variety of other beads. The bracelets come in 21 inch and 36 inch lengths, costing $29 and $39 respectively.

A year ago, somewhat eccentric kajillionaire, Elon Musk, revealed that he been cooking up a new transportation system that would carry passengers roughly 700mph almost the speed of sound. Dubbed the Hyperloop, Musk said the system would somehow only cost $6 billion. The Hyperloop has been shrouded in mystery, until today.

Musk previously said the Hyperloop is immune to weather, doesn need rails, can crash, and isn based on an evacuation tunnel. Musk also claims that the transportation system runs entirely off solar panels, and stores the energy within itself without needing batteries.

The Hyperloop involves an elevated system wherein aluminum pods on skis speed along through the Oakley Sunglasses inside of steel tubes. The skis are air bearings, and pump air out of the bottom, which move the pods along. Basically, it the same way air hockey tables work. The steel tubes would be mounted around on columns, would be around 50 to 100 feet apart from one another, and would loop back together at the end of the system. The loop is to keep the airflow inside the tunnels constantly churning. To move the pods at those crazy speeds, the tunnels would employ a linear electric motor. The pods skis would have a thin row of magnets, and the motor would push the pods along electromagnetically.

So, an electromagnetic air hockey table, where the puck also generates air. Musk envisions the elevated tunnels as looking like shotgun barrels. A Hyperloop bonus: since it is elevated, it wouldn interfere much with land and infrastructure.

The pods will travel at speeds up to 800mph, which is alarmingly fast. Musk states that each pod will have an emergency brake, and must be stationed around five miles from another pod in order to remain at a safe distance. So, the Hyperloop can fit around 70 pods between San Francisco and Los Angeles, and one would depart every 30 seconds definitely a boon for people who miss their train that runs on an hourly schedule by a couple minutes every morning.

You might assume that a vehicle traveling that fast would surely cause a number of us to carry barf bags as part of our morning commute, but Musk states that the pods would have less lateral acceleration, and thus be a more pleasant ride than, for example, a traditional subway. In order to slow down, another linear electric motor would absorb the kinetic energy, which in turn is stored in battery pack.

Musk estimates the Hyperloop to cost around six billion dollars for people only transport, or $10 billion for a version people can drive their cars right into a pod and bring their vehicle along for the trip. Musk also notes that tickets would be much cheaper than plane tickets, but doesn provide a figure. The Hyperloop is designed to link cities around 1,000 miles apart, but no farther, as a greater distance would significantly raise costs.

The Hyperloop won remedy all of your morning commute troubles. If it ever does come to be, it meant more as an airplane replacement for short trips between major cities. The random small town you call home that is two hours away from your place of work likely won ever receive a Hyperloop system. However, if you lived in New York and needed to travel to Boston a couple times a month on business, the Hyperloop would be a less of a hassle than a plane, and faster than that four or more hour train train.
