Man follows woman into car
POLICE have released images of a man wanted for questioning after a woman was threatened in the public toilets in the Cole Oakley Vault s carpark on Friday night.
A male offender followed the woman into the toilets at 8.03pm, knocked on the locked toilet door and aggressively demanded that she hand over her handbag.
Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes of the Warrnambool Criminal Inves Oakley Vault tigations Unit said the 26 year old victim was not injured but was extremely traumatised by the incident.
He said the male was seen loitering around the area for much of Friday night and into the early hours on Saturday.
The offender was captured on CCTV from inside the Chemist Warehouse.
Detective Senior Constable Hughes said the images showed he was aged in his mid 20s and was wearing runners and a dark coloured cap under a distinguishable and eye catching, bright yellow hoodie style windcheater.
He is of a medium build, about 175 centimetres (five fee Oakley Vault t nine inches) tall, and of Australian Caucasian appearance.
Police are also hoping to obtain additional camera security footage from another store today.
“If any person has any information in regards to the identity of this person I ask them to contact the Warrnambool CIU on 5560 1174 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
Police are also investigating an aggravated burglary in Wanstead Street early on Saturday morning after a man and his wife were woken by a crashing sound at 2.15am.
The man investigated the noise and noticed the kitchen and lounge lights were on and the back door was open. He returned to bed thinking his son had just come home from the pub.
In the morning the man discovered an offender had removed fly wire from a bathroom window and opened it.
Two bottles of alcohol valued at $400 were stolen from their son’s room along with a bottle of men’s cologne, a spare set of car keys and a couple of old mobile phon Oakley Vault es.
The offender also took a plastic container of old watches from the kitchen bench and they were found scattered around the from lawn.
